Dear Colleague,
I hope you are in the receipt of our earlier letter inviting you to send proposals for research in cardiology under the auspices of CSI Kerala.
The following broad aspects for the study have been agreed upon by the CSI Executive:

  1. Under the auspices of CSI Kerala
  2. Of sufficient local importance , size and duration as to  make significant advance in the knowledge base
  3. Multicentric, involving major centers across Kerala
  4. Prospective, preferably epidemiological or interventional

The proposals should be complete with the following details:

  1. Back ground and justification
  2. Brief review of literature esp Indian studies if any
  3. Aims and objectives
  4. Detailed methodology
  5. statistical details regarding sample size and duration of study
  6. Approximate anticipated cost

I invite you to forward (both by email and printed hard copy) suitable study proposals so as to reach on or before 31.07.2010 Those of you who have sent a preliminary copy of proposal may please revise as per the above and send again.

CSI Kerala Chapter Summer Conference - 8th May 2010 at Trichur

Dear Sir / Madam,

On behalf of the organizing committee, I have great pleasure in inviting you to the CSI Summer conference to be held at Thrissur on 8th and 9th of May 2010. Venue for the conference will be Lulu International convention center, Thrissur.

0n the first day We have included lectures related to imaging, electrophysiology and interventions and CD presentations on ECHO, coronary and non coronary interventions. On second day we will have interesting lectures, annual oration by Dr. R. Suresh Kumar, paper presentations and a quiz programme for postgraduates. Detailed programme brochure will be sent to you soon.

Those who are presenting CD s and free papers , please send their materials to reach Dr. George Koshy on or before 12th of April. Instructions for presentation are available at www.csikerala.org.

  Instructions and criteria for Award session
  The presenter should be less than 40 years of age.
 
Only medical doctors with DM/DNB/MCh/ post doctoral trainees in Cardiology are permitted to present the paper.
  One of the authors should be a CSI member.
 
If presentation is done by a physician with MD, it should be from a cardiology centre and should be under the supervision of a cardiologist.
  A cash prize of Rs. 25000 or equivalent will be awarded to the best paper.
  Time for presentation will be 8 minutes + 2 minutes for discussion.
  Only judges will be permitted to ask questions.
   
  Instructions and criteria for free paper sessions in general
 
The abstracts should be typed in A 4 page – double space. The headings should include: (A) Background (B) Aim (C) Materials and Methods (D) Results (E) Discussion (F) Conclusion.
  The presenter’s name should be first in the author list.
  There is no upper limit for the word count.
  The affiliations and contact details should be mentioned
  Time for presentation: 8 minutes + 2 minutes for discussion.
   
  Instructions for sending CD
  AVI format for angio pictures and Powerpoint presentation.
  Time for presentation: 5 minutes + 3 minutes for discussion
  A brief note about the important points to be discussed should be enclosed.

  Dear Colleagues,

It gives us immense pleasure to invite you to the Summer Conference of Cardiological Society of India (Kerala Chapter) to be held at Calicut.

The programme attempts to cover major facets of invasive and non-invasive Cardiology. The highlights of the event would include “How to do” session and interesting CD presentation on 2nd May. Paper presentation, Quiz and debates are scheduled on 3rd May. “Young Investigator Award” will be given to the best paper presented.

Award for Best Paper
  Dear Colleague,

CSI Kerala Chapter has decided to award a young investigator award to the author of the best paper presented in the free paper award session in the summer conference. The award comprises of a Certificate and prize worth Rs. 25000/-. The abstracts should reach the Organizing Secretary Dr. Sajeev.C.G Calicut Medical College, Mob: 9846035722 on or before 10th April 2009. CSI Kerala State Annual Conference - Date : 2nd November,2008. ( Sunday)
 

I request the whole hearted cooperation of the member for the national conference of CSI 2009. Kindly give your opinion and suggestions if any to Dr. K. VENUGOPAL organizing secretary of the national conference. The ongoing CSI ACS registry will be targeting 25000 cases. The data may be sent to Dr. P.P. MOHAN who is coordinating the ACS registry. The next annual conference of CSI Kerala chapter is scheduled to be held on November 2nd 2008 at Kannur. Dr. S.M. ASHRAF the organizing secretary for the same will be informing you the details regarding the venue and the programme. Kindly send the abstracts on time and actively participate in the scientific session and make the event a memorable one.

Requesting to kindly arrange the observation of World Heart Day 2008 at your centre on 28th September 2008 with street procession, Public awareness programme, displaying banners, free heart checkup and meetings at your centre so that day is observed as World Heart Day with full enthusiasm.Kindly send us the details of the programme being organized in your area along with photos if possible. This will be sent to the central CSI.
